Connecting the growing short term office rental markets to new customers and companies looking for desirable locations and affordable office space.
With the advent of short term office rental companies like WeWork, renting office space in major cities has become exciting and more affordable. London Office Xchange is a new company that works with several office suppliers in London to create a platform for users to search and find office space based on their requirements.
London Office Xchange required a unique and strong brand which could be truncated to create a abstract yet memorable name. LOX was decided as the brand as it conveys professionalism and a consistent message. The colours of the brand bring elements of trust, integrity and knowledge through to the company.
The London Office Xchange logo, featuring cut off text, has inspired the websites colour scheme. It will be used sparingly throughout to ensure an uncluttered UI.
London Office Xchange will be very professional, clear, neutral and to the point in order to appeal to a wide range of users. In order to achieve this we created a complete style guide, (a part of which you can see here) to convey the business ethos and also to commit to a design idea and make sure we keep the brand consistent through all digital and print platforms.
Creating sketches during meetings with the Co-Founders allowed us to showcase a general idea as to layout and design. We wanted to implement strong visuals, in particular images so we kept the initial sketches simple and heavy image ready.
Upon completion the final designs along with all assets and design documentation files were delivered to the client. They were very happy with the final designs and were happy to move forward with the web development of the site.
We did encounter some issues in the design of this site, some of which included search functionality, such as searching via underground or train stations as well as showcasing the relevant images as per the office space. We manage to solve these issues by adding relevant search fields as well as requesting the office companies to upload images directly to the bespoke content management system.
Creare a single communications network between the directors as information seemed to be slipping through and missed. I had to be concise and clarify the designs in the most effective and simple way so not to confuse the directors. The best way I could showcase ideas was through low fid mockups which made it easy for the client to visualise. Listen more closely to the marketing and sales team, I should have considered there input more as they would be using the site and CMS on a regular basis.
